Huh. I defintily scoffed when I saw this episode was about Scooby Doo of all things, but I have to say you won me over by the end of the discussion. It actually does sound like an amusing show. Ed, were you ever able to find some good shojo stories? I know they've been discussed in passing as kind of a 'lesser genre'. I think that's true too for the most part, but have you ever heard of the series' Basara or Kodocha? Basara is the story of a girl in a post apocylyptic world who is given the destiny of overthrowing a despot king. It has great character development and a very strong and proactive heroine. Kodocha is about a young child actress and her deliquent classmate Akito. Which sounds super lame and cliche I know, but the series addresses heady issues like child abuse and abandonment while somehow balancing humor and drama.
