This was great to listen to! One thing everyone should keep in mind as 20th Century Boys nears its end is that 21st Century Boys is REALLY the end. A lot of people get really confused coming to Vol 22 of 20th Century Boys not knowing the forced break Urasawa had to take completing the series. Naturally, it looks like a really unsatisfying end point as a result! It's really not like that, though. I've been rewarded a lot by rereads and have found it as multilayered as Monster and Pluto thematically, even if there is a lot of decompressed plot progression in the second half of the series. Given the breadth of the series, that's hard to see because the ending literally ties directly back to the VERY beginning of the series. I hope you can bring yourself to be charitable despite the frustration of slogging through all 24 volumes.
