You can get a feel for the manga William (Bill) and Mari have worked on by looking at their encyclopedia entries at Anime News Network. Here's Bill. Here's Mari. You can hear more of Bill's history as a translator on the episode of ANNCast he appeared. Bill also has a website Translation Dojo Current Series for Bill are xxxHolic, Sailor Moon, A Bride's Story, Lucky Star, Kobato, and Gate 7. Current Series for Mari are Ayako, Naruto, Inu-Yasha, Book of Human Insects, Bloody Monday, and Cage of Eden. As always you can find Johanna and me on Twitter. Johanna is @johannadc. I'm @edsizemore.

This is a slight departure from the normal mode of operations here at Manga Out Loud. First, I'm not discussing manga this week. Second, There is no intro or closing comments on this post. Instead, I chose to just give you the panel audio. Moritheil's site is www.animediet.net Johanna's site is www.comicsworthreading.com Christopher Macdonald is the Editor In Chief of Anime News Network www.animenewsnetwork.com Brad Rice is the Editor In Chief of Japanator www.japanator.com I want to thank Moritheil and Johanna in helping me create and shape this panel. I want to thank Chris and Brad for being guests and for such engaging discussion. Please leave any comments or suggestions. I do have comments moderation on because of spam issues that I can't resolve, but I check the site frequently, so your comments should be approved fairly quickly. UPDATE: Animemiz has put an edited transcript of the panel http://animediet.net/conventions/anime-journalism-otakon2010-panel |

I've label this explicit because of the subject matter and not because of the language. If you're looking to hear my swear, you will have to keep waiting. The :01 First Second book Johanna couldn't remember is Kampung Boy http://us.macmillan.com/kampungboy Here is the introductory page for the June Manhwa Moveable Feast http://manhwa.mangabookshelf.com/2010/06/21/mmf-an-introduction-to-the-color-trilogy/ Melinda's page will also serve as the hub where links to all reviews are posted. So keep checking back daily for new reviews. Here is a link to Johanna's review of The Color Trilogy http://comicsworthreading.com/2009/12/02/the-color-of-earth-the-color-of-water-the-color-of-heaven/ Here is the link to :01 First Second Books http://www.firstsecondbooks.com/ Here is a link to a preview of The Color Of Earth http://us.macmillan.com/BookCustomPage.aspx?isbn=1596434589&m_type=7
Because an insanely persistant spammer, I had to turn on comment moderation. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please leave feedback. By the way, yes, I am still a prude. |
